Waste means any unnecessary substance produced by living or industrial activities of human beings such as garbage, ashes, sludge, waste oil, acid and alkali, carcass, and so on.



Municipal waste means waste except industrial waste.



Industrial waste means waste arising a business setting up and operating discharge
facilities as provided in the regulations of the Atmospheric Environment Preservation Law,
Water Environment Preservation Law, and Noise and Vibration Control Law or a business
designated by a Presidential Decree.

Industrial general waste: Waste except designated waste and construction waste
Designated waste: Harmful material likely to pollute surrounding environment such as
                               waste oil, acid etc. or damage the human body
Construction waste: Waste discharged from a series of construction and works in
                                connection with civil engineering and construction works
